Everything Tuckaroo does

One panel, five columns and the details that make them yours. Jump to what you want to know.

Opening it

The panel

Scroll down on the menu bar and Tuckaroo slides down. Scroll up, move away or press Esc and it's gone.

  • Opens by scrolling down on the menu bar, anywhere along it, or at the very top of the screen
  • Or with ⌥⌘T (or keys of your choice), or a key held with the pointer on the menu bar
  • Closes by scrolling up, moving the pointer away, clicking elsewhere, ⌘⇥ or esc
  • Stays open while a menu, a note or a drag still needs it
  • Scroll direction can be reversed for a mouse wheel and a trackpad apart
  • On every display, under its own menu bar

Five columns

Files

A shelf folder, plus any folder as a tab. Drag in, drag out, done.

  • Icons with thumbnails, or a sortable list; folders on top if you like
  • Folder tabs for Downloads, screenshots, a project or a drive
  • Drag files in and out; dragging out, the panel steps aside
  • Quick Look with Space, rename, new folder, compress to ZIP
  • Undo and redo for every change; nothing is deleted, it goes to the Trash
  • Name conflicts asked right in the column: replace, skip or both
  • A dropped web link becomes an internet shortcut

Notes

Write with live formatting. Every note stays a plain Markdown file you own.

  • Live formatting: headings, bold, lists, checklists, quotes, code, tables
  • Notes are .md files in a folder you choose, also in iCloud Drive
  • Search, favourites, a list beside the note in a wide column
  • Ticked items move down; notes named after their first line
  • Find and replace, undo, links between notes
  • Web apps as tabs: iCloud Notes, Reminders, Google Keep, Notion, Todoist and more
  • A note changed elsewhere is never overwritten unseen

Clipboard

Everything you copy, searchable, with the snippets you keep for good.

  • Text, links, colours, pictures and files, with the app they came from
  • Favourites that stay when the history is cleared, in your own order
  • Hold ⇧⌘V anywhere: pick with V or the arrows, let go to paste
  • Never keeps copies from password managers, nor copies marked secret
  • Blurred until the pointer is on one, so nobody reads along
  • Copies from your iPhone paste as text
  • Limits for long texts and large pictures
The Clipboard column

Calendar

Your calendars from macOS, the next meeting in the menu bar, and Join in one click.

  • Month and day views, a new event in seconds
  • The next meeting next to the menu bar icon, as early as you like
  • A reminder card a minute before, with Join
  • Recognises Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, Whereby, FaceTime and more
  • Choose which calendars show and which count for the menu bar
The Calendar column

Pages

Any website in a column of its own, side by side with the others, signed in.

  • Mail, dashboards, chat, music: each site in a column of its own
  • As many side by side as fit, or several as tabs in one column
  • Reorder pages and tabs by dragging
  • Its own sign-in for a page: a second account on the same site
  • Sound and video pause when the panel closes, or play on
  • Pages keep running in the background up to a limit you set
  • Links to other sites open in your browser
Three web apps side by side: an inbox (with a board as a second tab), a radio player and a team chat

Make it yours

Arrange it your way

Drag a card by its header and the others make room. Or keep everything in one tidy row.

  • Free layout: drop a column next to, above or below another
  • Dashed lines show where it lands while you drag
  • Side by side: one row, in the order you choose
  • Drag the gap between columns to resize; double-click to even them out
  • Drag an icon from the sidebar into the panel to add a column
  • Columns keep a minimum width; the rest waits until there is room

Floating windows

Drag a column out of the panel and it stays in view above your work, fading when you don't need it.

  • Drag a column by its header out of the panel: it floats where you let go
  • Stays above your windows, as small as you like
  • Fades to a see-through window after a few seconds; the pointer brings it back
  • How far it fades is up to you, from 10 to 90 percent
  • Drag it back to the menu bar to dock it, or use its dock button
  • Hold ⌥ while you let go to keep it floating over the panel

Profiles

A different panel for every situation, each opened with its own gesture.

  • A different set of columns for work, home or a big screen
  • Switch with ⌃⇥, ⌃1–⌃9, by screen width, or a key held while scrolling down
  • Drag profiles into your order in Settings; Default stays on top
  • Optionally separate Files, the Notes view, calendars and sign-ins per profile

Cards float on a soft tint; edge to edge has thin dividers. Free lets you put a column above or below another; side by side keeps one row.
