Changelog

What's new

Every version of Tuckaroo, newest first. Tuckaroo updates itself and shows the same notes when it does.

0.9.10

Settings

  • ImprovedEach pane starts with what you change most. The rest is under Advanced at its bottom: click it to open.
  • ImprovedOptions read at a glance, without an icon on every row, and with a line of explanation only where the name alone does not say enough.
  • ImprovedTheme, Text size, Style and Layout show their pictures beside their name.
  • ChangedShortcuts has a place of its own at the bottom of the sidebar, under Keyboard.

Calendar

  • ChangedA click on an event or reminder chooses it; a double-click opens it.
  • ImprovedThe event form stays where it is while you change it, and its buttons share one row.

Notes

  • ImprovedBackspace at the start of a heading makes it one level larger (### to ## to #, then ordinary text). An empty heading goes at once. Typing # there makes it one level smaller.
  • ChangedCopied text pastes as plain text, without # or **. Want the Markdown? Turn on Copy with Markdown in Settings › Notes › Advanced.
  • ChangedChecked items stay where they are. To have them move below the open ones, turn on “Move checked items below the open ones” in Settings › Notes › Advanced.
  • ChangedNotes apps in tabs start turned off. Turn on the ones you use in Settings › Notes.

Files

  • NewEach folder tab keeps its own view: icons or a list, how large and how sorted.

Fixes

  • FixedIn a narrow Clipboard tool, the line under a long clip is no longer cut off.

0.9.9

Languages

  • NewTuckaroo speaks Dutch and German too, with the names macOS itself uses. Choose the language in Settings › General › Language, or keep System Default.

Clipboard

  • New⇧⌘V now opens a history window that stays open. Type to search, choose with ↑↓ (or ⇧⌘V again) and press Return to paste. Esc closes it. Rather hold ⇧ and let go to paste? Turn on “Paste when you let go” in Settings › Clipboard.
  • NewIn that window, ⌘← and ⌘→ switch between History, Favorites and your own lists, and each list stays where you left it.
  • New← and →, or the pointer on a clip, show other ways to paste it: a color as HEX, RGB or HSL, formatted text without its formatting (⌥Return or an ⌥-click does that too).
  • NewSettings › Clipboard › Colors puts a copied color back as copied, or as HEX, RGB or HSL. Right-click a color for the other ways.
  • New“Keep repeated copies” in Settings › Clipboard gives a copy made again a place of its own.
  • NewLists of your own beside Favorites: click + after the tabs. Drag a clip onto a list’s tab, or right-click it and choose Add to. Right-click a list’s tab to rename or delete it, and drag the tabs into your own order.
  • NewDrag favorites, and the clips in your lists, into your own order.
  • ImprovedEach tab remembers where you scrolled.
  • ChangedA click puts a clip on the clipboard when you let go, so dragging one leaves the clipboard as it was.

Files and Pages

  • New+ after the folder tabs in Files adds a folder as a tab. In a group of pages, + adds a page to the group.
  • ImprovedTabs light up under the pointer.

Fixes

  • FixedA favorite made by hand no longer shows at the top of the history as if it were on the clipboard.
  • FixedIn a narrow Calendar, Save and Cancel stack when they do not fit side by side.
  • FixedA low Files card keeps the buttons for a missing folder within reach.
  • FixedThe month title and week numbers grow with the text size.

0.9.8

Files

  • NewDrag files onto a Files tab to move them into its folder. Hold them over the tab and it opens.
  • NewFolders open the same way, as in Finder: hold files over a folder in the list, in the icons or in the path bar, and it opens right after it blinks twice. Let go somewhere else and Files goes back to where it was.
  • ImprovedA folder takes a drop on its icon too, not only on its name.
  • ImprovedDropping files into the folder they are already in says so in red, such as “Already in Downloads”.

Notes

  • FixedChecking off an item no longer scrolls the note back to the text cursor.

Layout

  • ChangedSide by side, a tool you drag only moves along the row. Placing one above another is for the free layout.

Words

  • ChangedTuckaroo is in American English now: “Favorites” and “Move checked items below the open ones”, for example.
  • ChangedWhere the app means Files, Notes, Clipboard, Calendar or a page, it now says “tool”. On a page tab, “Move to Its Own Column” is now “Move Out of Group”.

0.9.7

The first version for testers: five tools under the menu bar (Files, Notes, Clipboard, Calendar and Pages), in your layout, with profiles.
